Financials and Grants

We uphold high standards for good and faithful stewardship.

Financials

Our Trustees engage an independent firm to conduct an audit of The Catholic Foundation’s Financial Statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards in the United States of America.

To provide an overview of Foundation activities, we also publish an annual report. Our most recent IRS Form 990 is available upon request.

Grants

Since inception in 1998, the Foundation and its donors have granted more than $65 million to sustain the causes we believe in, especially in northern Colorado.

Currently, one-third of the grants distributed through the Foundation are given to programs for which the funds were established, and two-thirds are given from donor-advised funds at the discretion of the donors themselves.

Nonprofit Status

The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions to the Foundation are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado is also a public juridic person of the Catholic Church and a separate legal entity from the Archdiocese of Denver.
