David A. “Dave” Fantz, Finance Director

Dave Fantz was appointed Finance Director for the Foundation in 2010 after retiring as corporate vice president of finance for Catholic Health Initiatives, a Denver-based health system with more than 70 hospitals and a number of clinics and foundations across 18 states. Dave previously served in chief financial officer roles for large medical centers in Boise, Idaho and St. Petersburg, Florida. He started his career in Los Angeles, where he spent 10 years with Ernst & Young in its accounting and auditing practice.

His community participation includes:

• Knights of Columbus … Member, Third-degree Council; and Member, Fourth-degree Assembly
• Saint Frances Cabrini parish … Lector; Member, That Man Is You parish core team; and Member (with his wife), Marriage Enrichment parish core team
• Archdiocese of Denver … Past Member, Accounting and Auditing Committee
• Healthcare Financial Management Association, Colorado Chapter … Past President and Board Member

Dave received his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton and his MBA from the University of Southern California. During his residency in California, he formerly was a practicing Certified Public Accountant. He and his wife Carolyn have five adult children and eight grandchildren.
