Donor-Advised Fund
We provide a turnkey solution to fulfill your giving goals.
In essence: we manage the books, and you make the gifts. And frankly, we excel in this kind of stewardship: Two-thirds of grants made by The Catholic Foundation are designated through our donor-advised funds.
How It Works
As you may have discovered already through research or planning, a donor-advised fund allows you to invest in what you believe in, following agreed-upon guidelines. The Foundation manages the invested funds and distributes grants on your behalf.
You have the flexibility to request different amounts and recipients each time you give. And, if you have a family foundation, the required annual distribution maybe deposited in your donor-advised fund for later gifting.
What You Need to Know
The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado has established standards for donor-advised funds that are in keeping with our mission and financial management priorities, including:
- Immediate tax deduction, even if grants are distributed later
- No minimum starting fund contribution
- Contributions at any time, any amount
- Monthly fund performance reports
- Quarterly grant distributions after fund balances reaches $25,000
- $500 minimum per grant
- Opportunity for family participation in charitable decisions
- Grants to qualified non-profit organizations
- Grants kept anonymous if desired
- Grants in accordance with the mission of the Foundation
- Appropriate for funding operations or capital improvements
